The WHL-III is a portable welding tractor for mechanized tank-seam work on either a straight linear guide or a self-aligning flexible rail. Its integrated construction reduces external control wiring, while the digital control panel allows operators to adjust and record operating data.
A memory function restores the previously used settings at the next startup. The tractor accepts a 220 V AC, 50/60 Hz external supply and operates its drive and control system at 20 V AC. Welding travel speed is adjustable from 0 to 1,650 mm/min.
Listed torch-position adjustments include 65 mm vertically, 80 mm laterally, a ±60° swing angle, and a ±25° travel angle. Oscillation controls include a stated 0–100 mm/min speed range, 0–2.5-second dwell adjustment, ±14 mm width adjustment, and ±5 mm center compensation.
The control system provides five welding-handling patterns and supports continuous or intermittent welding with adjustable distance, length, and speed. Operators can demonstrate the planned travel path without striking an arc. Left- and right-direction limit .
Straight-rail and flexible-rail configurations use different drive arrangements. The straight version uses a linear-motion guide and gear drive, while the flexible version uses a self-aligning slide rail and sprocket drive.
Listed main-unit weights are 8.6 kg for the straight-rail configuration and 10.4 kg for the flexible-rail configuration. Magnetic mounting is specified for magnetically attractive plate at least 3 mm thick. Rail sections can be connected or overlapped to extend the travel path.
