  Pump operation After the preparation before driving is completed, you can start driving
Here are the steps for driving

If the pump is equipped with an independent external drive lubrication system, the lubricating oil pump shall be driven first
If the pump is equipped with a lubrication system combined with the crankshaft, it is preferred to remove the inspection door cover or machine cover at the power end, add an appropriate amount of lubricating oil to the friction pair surfaces and oil storage tanks at the power end, and then cover the inspection door cover or machine cover

Manually transfer the crankshaft for more than one full revolution, and confirm that all moving parts and components are free of obstruction and jam

Open the bypass valve on the outlet pipe

Open the valve on the inlet header

Open the valve on the discharge pipeline and slowly close the bypass valve to gradually boost the pump
Completely close the bypass valve and put the pump into load operation

Note: after the new pump or overhauled pump is put into load operation for the first time, carefully observe the inlet and outlet pressure of the pump, whether the pump is abnormal, uneven sound, oil pressure and oil temperature of the lubrication system, oil temperature and oil pressure of the torque converter, leakage of each fixed seal, leakage of each dynamic seal, fluctuation of pump outlet pressure, abnormal vibration of pipeline and pump, etc

Shutdown steps:
Before stopping the pump, the load (i
e
discharge pressure) of the pump must be removed first to make the pump turn into no-load operation, which is the most important point in the pump shutdown operation (except emergency shutdown)
The following is the usual sequence of pump shutdown

Open the pressure relief valve to turn the pump into no-load operation

Cut off the power supply of the main motor of the pump and stop the pump

After the pump stops running, close the gate valve and pressure relief valve on the discharge pipeline
At this point, the shutdown operation is completed

Safety and precautions
  As we all know, safety comes first in any production activity
Unsafe factors often come from negligence, desire for convenience and unfamiliar with the equipment, and do not understand the consequences of violating a certain safety measure
This manual provides the safety measures that users should pay attention to when using the equipment, and is only used as a guide for some major safety measures
The user shall formulate the safety operation procedures according to the safety matters provided in this manual

Before carrying out any maintenance work, it must first be determined that the equipment has been separated from the power source, or the power source has stopped working, so as to prevent any form of power (or energy) from entering the equipment
This includes electric energy, mechanical energy and hydraulic energy, which enter the pump from the transmission shaft (Crankshaft) of the pump and from the inlet and outlet of the pump

Before starting the pump, it must be carefully determined that the discharge pipeline of the pump is unblocked, and all valves in the discharge pipeline are fully opened
Otherwise, the discharge pressure of the pump will rise indefinitely until the power source is overloaded and stopped or a weak link of the equipment is damaged, which will cause * personal casualties

Do not move the pump with abnormal lubrication
If abnormal lubrication is found during running, stop the machine immediately for inspection and troubleshooting

The pump is not allowed to stop under load (i
e
when the pump is stopped with discharge pressure)
This shutdown operation will damage the transmission system of the equipment
If it is operated frequently, it will seriously damage the operation life of the equipment
However, when the equipment finds an accident and stops in an emergency, it is allowed to stop the load

The pump is not allowed to start with load, because the starting torque of the power source equipped with the pump is not enough to overload the pump

Large motors, especially synchronous motors, are used as pump power sources
If frequent starting is required during pump commissioning, please refer to the allowable starting times within the specified time in the operation manual of the motor, otherwise the motor will be damaged

The pump is not allowed to operate without injecting liquid (medium) into the hydraulic end, which will cause dry friction between the plunger and packing, causing heating of the plunger and damage to the packing

The inlet and outlet pressure of booster water injection pump (or high inlet high outlet water injection pump) for oil field must be operated within the value range specified in the manual
Otherwise, the pump will not operate normally, the oil temperature will be high, and the service life of the pump will be shortened

All exposed rotating bodies (such as pulley, coupling, etc
) shall be equipped with protective covers

Regularly check whether the pressure gauge and the safety valve in the high-pressure pipeline are correct and sensitive
Regularly check the reliability of various safety interlocking protection systems

The proper tightening torque of all bolts, studs and nuts of the pump, especially those used on the high-pressure flange and bearing seat, is directly related to the normal operation of the pump and personal safety
Improper tightening torque will cause fatigue or yield of these important and solid parts, and eventually lead to damage and serious consequences
