The CS-900 Series High-Frequency Infrared Carbon and Sulfur Analyzer is designed to determine carbon and sulfur content in metal samples. During analysis, high-frequency induction combustion converts carbon and sulfur in the sample into CO₂ and SO₂.
The instrument measures infrared absorption associated with these gases, processes the signals through analog-to-digital conversion, and sends the results to a computer for processing. The analyzer uses five detector sets covering high carbon, low carbon, high sulfur, low sulfur, and carbon monoxide.
Listed measurement ranges are C1: 0.001–50%, expandable to 100%;C2: 0.00001–0.5%;S1: 0.00001–60%, expandable to 100%;and S2: 0.00001–5%. Reading sensitivity is stated as 0.01 ppm, with listed repeatability values of carbon RSD ≤0.4% and sulfur RSD ≤1.0%. The stated analysis cycle is 30–50 seconds.
An integrated high-frequency combustion furnace and infrared analysis system is paired with two independent operating systems. Automatic reverse-purge dust removal uses combustion exhaust gas to remove accumulated combustion dust when operated with a dust extraction valve.
