The CS-900 Series High-Frequency Infrared Carbon and Sulfur Analyzer is designed to determine carbon and sulfur content in metal samples. During analysis, high-frequency induction combustion converts carbon and sulfur in the sample into CO₂ and SO₂.

The instrument measures infrared absorption associated with these gases, processes the signals through analog-to-digital conversion, and sends the results to a computer for processing. The analyzer uses five detector sets covering high carbon, low carbon, high sulfur, low sulfur, and carbon monoxide.
